Joint Effort Launched In Crown Heights for Neighborhood Wide Rat Extermination

New York City has seen a drastic increase in its rat population, landing at #3 on the list of rattiest cities in America (Chicago and Los Angeles hold down the #1 and #2 spots). Lately, Crown Heights is seeing a steady increase in its rat population. It’s hard to go on the streets without encountering a very unpleasant meeting with one or several of them, dead or alive.

Rats seeking shelter may find their way into your home. Especially in wintertime. With their small size and resourceful nature, they can locate the smallest holes and gain entry into secluded features of your home, such as the walls or attic. With the growing population of the large, semi-aquatic river rats, homes around the community are frequently falling victim to the damage and inconvenience of these pests.

They chew through walls and pipes and can start fires by gnawing on wires. Rats contaminate food and food prep areas with their urine, feces, and saliva. With contamination comes illness such as dysentery, salmonella, and hantavirus.

Not dealing with this problem will not just leave it as-is, but it enables the rats to multiply. If we donโ€™t deal with it today, we will see many more in the near future!

The best method would be a neighborhood-wide effort to combat the problem within a time frame.

Mrs. Tammy Holzman of Crown Heights has decided to take initiative and organize a joint effort. A list is being put together as a simple-to-use Google document, and everyone who would like to join the effort is encouraged to add their name to it.

The idea is, to do as many yards, basements, and alleyways within a concentrated amount of time, for maximum effect. The more people will join the efforts, the faster this neighborhood will be rid of the infestation.

When considering the cost of the treatment, please counter it with the cost of repairing damages caused by rats or replacing the valuables they ruined.

Dominic of Say No More Pest Control, a very experienced exterminator, has been working in the neighborhood for years and is known for his thorough work. He is now called to provide his services in an organized way and is offering it here at the bottom of this article.

Dominic will be contacting everyone who has placed their name on the list to schedule an appointment and assess the situation. The price would be determined by the condition of the home and yard, and by how much poison and traps should be used.

People who live in apartment buildings are encouraged to appoint one representative who will show the exterminator the site, make sure there is access to it, i.e.- basement, back yard, and collect the funds from neighbors.

A time frame will be given to every block, for optimal results.

Here is the link to join the neighborhood effort. After filling in your info, you will be contacted by the service. Please be patient!
