TONIGHT: Full Siyum Program Unveiled
The International Siyum HaRambam Committee unveils the full program details of the historic event marking the conclusion of the 40th cycle, that will take place today, the auspicious day of Gimmel Tammuz, on Eastern Parkway in front of 770.
The organizers thank the NYPD for their wonderful cooperation, and stress importance of keeping to the schedule: Entry to the venue will open at 7:00 PM, the Siyum will start at exactly 7:30 PM, and the program will conclude at 9:30 PM sharp to allow the parkway to be reopened to traffic.
Guest of honor, the Rishon Letzion and Chief Rabbi of Yerushalayim, Harav Shlomo Moshe Amar, will share words in honor of the 40th Siyum and related to the holy day of Gimmel Tammuz.
The Chief Rabbi of Eretz Yisroel, Harav Dovid Lau, sent his blessings.
The Rebbe’s niggunim will be sung throughout the evening by chassidic singer Avraham Fried together with Yossi Cohen’s Kapelle choir and the entire crowd, with musical accompaniment by Chony Milecki. There will be a special children’s choir that will sing in honor of the Siyum.
The rabbonim of the Crown Heights Beis Din, Harav Avraham Osdoba and Harav Yosef Yeshaya Braun will share words of Torah and blessing.
A unique video presentation on the takana of Limud HaRambam, produced specially for this event, will be shown exclusively during the Siyum.
Guest speakers will be Harav Berel Lazar, shliach and chief rabbi of Russia, and Harav Yosef Hecht, shliach and chief rabbi of Eilat.
Representatives of the major chassidic courts will participate in the celebration and share words of blessing from their Rebbes.
Special mementos will be distributed to the participants, along with a spectacular study schedule for the new cycle. Participants will receive a preview edition from the new sefer Otzar HaMelech, which collects the Rebbe’s explanations on Rambam, printed specially for the Siyum, a tadfis from the Pardes Hemelech Rambam by Rabbi Meir Elituv, and the Chayenu for this week.
Committee Chairman, Rabbi Shmuel Butman, expresses his strong hope that the tremendous inspiration in connection with the 40th Siyum will lead to new energy in all Rambam study tracks by every single Jew, and that the Siyum will take place in the holy city of Yerushalayim, together with the Rambam and Rebbe, after we have already experienced the complete geula.
