A staunch supporter of Israel, Caruso-Cabrera, who was endorsed as third pick by the United group of askanim, made it her business to make a stop in the Crown Heights community in the days leading up to Gimmel Tammuz, the 27th yahrzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

Having made a stop at the Ohel with Crown Heights activist Chanina Sperlin two weeks prior, Michelle was shown around the community by Yosef Hershkop, a local Healthcare Executive and activist.

While in Crown Heights, she visited locals stores and spoke with Crown Heights residents.

Many in the Crown Heights community have pointed to her close history with Israel and the Jewish community as being particularly strong.
