Grand Hachnasa L’cheder in Tomchei Temimim
Over 80 children were introduced to cheder in United Lubavitcher Yeshivah’s Hachnasa L’cheder event, “arainfirenish.” Fathers and mothers arrived with their young sons wrapped in talleisim. The Hachnasa L’cheder was led by renowned mechanech Rabbi Chaim Levi Goldstein, author of the comprehensive Hachnasa L’cheder Guide. Rabbi Goldstein explained that this Minhag is a Segula for a child to grow up to be a Talmid Chochom.
Each child was presented with his own inscribed honey cake, an egg with special pesukim, and the Sha’ar Blatt of Tanya with honey. An interactive slideshow helped the children find each letter of the Aleph Beis in their page of Tanya. The boys licked the honey from the letters, introducing them to the sweetness of Torah. Malach Michoel threw candies, and then each boy got to eat his delicious honey cake and egg.
The event ended with fathers and sons dancing, and a special photo station for families to take pictures.
“It was an unforgettable experience filled with Kedusha and Nachas” was how Rabbi Y. Simpson, Menahel, described this event.
The magnificent event was arranged by Rabbi Chaim Mayzlesh and Rabbi Yisroel Langsam, in memory of Rabbi Katzen OBM, who ran the Hachnasa L’cheder in Lubavitcher Yeshiva for decades.
