A Vaccination Message From Dr. Feldman

by CrownHeights.info

Dr. Robert Feldman, who cares for many residents of the Crown Heights Jewish community has published a message regarding the COVID-19 vaccinations presently available.

“The past year has been very difficult for our community. Boruch Hashem, we finally have vaccines that can help put this pandemic behind us,” he wrote in a letter addressed to the community posted in his office. “More than 200 million Covid vaccine doses have now been administered worldwide including more than 90 million doses in the United States.”

“These vaccines have demonstrated significant efficacy, and serious adverse events have been exceedingly rare (almost all limited to individuals with a history of anaphylaxis). The first people who received the vaccines have been closely followed for more than 6 months and there have been no significant long term adverse effects identified to date. To be clear, no medical intervention is absolutely risk-free. But the known benefits of the vaccines in preventing COVID and thereby avoiding unnecessary suffering, illness, possible long term health effects and even death, outweigh the potential risks which include that some people may feel sick for a short while after receiving the vaccine.”

“Therefore, we advise those who are eligible, to be vaccinated as the vaccine becomes available for various age/risk groups. If you have any questions or concerns as to whether you should be vaccinated, I am available to discuss your individual situation and advise you accordingly.”
