71st Precinct to Receive New Commanding Officer

by CrownHeights.info

Crown Heights’s 71st Police Precinct will see a new Commanding Officer this coming week, replacing outgoing Commanding Officer Tito Remero.

Remero had been injured during the violence surrounding the George Floyd protests in September, and had been temporarily replaced by the previous Commanding Officer, Norman Grandstaff. Since then, Remero has been in recovery from a shoulder surgery, according to a police source.

Although the new Commanding officer has yet to be announced, sources tell CrownHeights.info that it will be Inspector Joseph Heyward, the previous commander of the 60th Precinct in Brooklyn.
