The Ahavas Chessed Blood and Plasma Drive that took place Monday was a complete success, packing the days schedule with life-saving donations.

The drive, done in memory of Rabbi Avraham Lider OBM and in honor of his birthday, was spearheaded by Ahavas Chessed in partnership with the New York Blood Center.

The life-saving event filled an entire upper floor of The Jewish Children’s Museum, with Crown Heights residents arriving at prearranged times to donate blood and life-saving plasma.

Rabbi Avraham Lider obm had devoted over thirty years to helping arrange blood drives among countless other good deeds within the community. As his son Dovid took the helm of the Ahavas Chessed Organization, he vowed to continue his father’s legacy.

With the demand for blood and convalescent plasma increasing due to the fight against COVID-19, Dovid galvanized the community to continue to be a leader of chessed to all those in need.
