Flash Flooding and Downed Trees As Storm Blows Through Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

A storm warning was placed in effect for New York City Sunday evening, and the expected storm did not disappoint.

Sheets of rain pelted the Big Apple, sending rivers running along roads and causing flash flooding at intersections. High winds buffeted Brooklyn toppling at least one tree in Crown Heights and sending tents flying.

The Sterling Street Minyon Tent, which had just completed welcoming its first Sefer Torah, had one portion come crashing down, thankfully without causing any injuries.

Other areas of Brooklyn were also hard hit, with Boro Park Shomrim clearing drains and cutting downed trees to clear blocked streets.
