Road Work Shuts Down Eastern Parkway Monday Night

by CrownHeights.info

In preparation for the repaving of Eastern Parkway, work crews shut down one of Brooklyn’s main arteries Monday evening to “mill” the road.

Heavy equipment shook the street as the machines chewed up the upper layer of Eastern Parkway, clearing the way for a fresh layer of asphalt.

Due to heavy traffic, a new road surface was sorely needed on what is considered by many to be a Reshus Harabim Duraisa.

The road work extended across the main road from New York Ave through Troy Ave, with work continuing.

It is not yet clear when the new layer of asphalt will be laid, and for how long the rough milled road will remain.
