Pictures From Old Chassidic Children’s Books Comes Back To Life

You will recognize the painting immediately from your childhood. It may be larger than you remember, but the street art on the corner of Albany Ave and Eastern Parkway will remind you of the blue cover books and unique drawings from the Machaniyim series.

Israeli artist Sholom B. redecorated the temporary construction wall after a Crown Heights resident pointed out that he would like his children to see the Chassidic portrayals while playing in the area.

Sholom B’s artwork first found it’s home on the wall of a store in Israel. Soon after, he was approached by a principal from a school in Lod, then a parent asked him to take his art to the streets.

The artwork can now be found on the streets of multiple cities, including Kfar Chabad and Crown Heights.
