Important Message from The NYPD

The NYPD’s 71st Precinct has an important message for the Crown Heights Jewish community.

Although synagogues in New York City are able to open, if you find them locked, please go home to pray at a porch Minyan.

The message comes after a debacle Friday night, as 160 people arrived at 770 to Daven. Despite media reports that “770 would be reopening this Shabbos”, the doors of the building remained locked and the group began davening outside without maintaining social distancing.

“Please don’t put the police department in the awkward position of having to disperse people,” Community Affairs Detective Vincent Martinoz told CrownHeights.info.

While the rules regarding gatherings remain fluid, for now, social distancing is required for any gathering, inside or out.
