Crown Heights Schools Get Face-Lift for New Year
As the school year approaches, several Crown Heights institutions have been revamping their campuses for the benefit of students and faculty members. Among the schools getting a facelift were Oholei Torah, Lubavitcher Yeshiva and Beis Rivkah.
In Oholei Torah the old men’s bathrooms in the basement were renovated, as well as the entrance to the pool area.
New doors for entry on the ground level will add convenience for those going up to the simcha hall, as well as enhanced safety – for it gives the security guards a better view of the front of the building.
On the third floor, the Shul was enlaged and new classrooms were added; a brand new break-room for teachers was added as well.
In Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown St., the larger simcha hall, a popular venue for l’chaims which also serves as the students’ lunchroom, was completely renovated.
In Beis Rivkah on Lefferts Ave., as reported previously, the steps in the front of the building were repaired and renewed, adding both to the beauty and safety of the building.

Nice. Will they be reating a real curriculum as well?
Bais Rivka Bubby
Wonderful. Now pay your teachers.
Beth Rivka??!!
I’m sure your not going to print my comment, but
I must say that it’s a major Chutzpah from Bais Rivkah, who hasn’t paid their teachers SINCE JANUARY – me included – would go and spen money on fixing steps (when I have to borrow money for Shabbos!!!
Where is the public outcry?!
MOLD
Are they covering up Mold instead of treating it???
a face lift? seriously?!
bais rivkah you need to do a serious reality check. the steps arent safe? block them off and use the other entrance, most people dont use that entrance anyway. take the money and pay your teachers. i see how your administrators live, i see all the government programs you get. something is wrong!!
oholei torah chai
sai they pay thier teachers – one two weeks late is really nothing compared to the other mosdos, and sai they build! Kol HakOAvod to Rabbis JOspeh and SHolom Rosenfeld!
@ #3 & @#5
I think you should all refuse to start school unless you get FULL back pay – and make sure the checks clear. It will only work if over 90% of you stay home. No teachers meeting, no orientation, no teaching. They’ll never find 100 teachers & assistants at this stage of the game.
Believe me, this will cause so much trouble not to mention reports everywhere & they’ll be so embarrassed that they’ll somehow find the money to pay you. Money orders would be better, they are like cash & you could go back immediately.
Guess what? I have grandchildren in Bais Rivka and it will really give my kids a headache but you deserve to be paid on time. Other parents should be furious and you should demand to know where your tuition goes. I’m sure we are all thinking the same thing.

ach. no matter what the admin does it’s not good enough. if they’d pay their teachers, you’d say what a drabby buidling. if they fix the building, you say pay the teachers.
just give credit and thanks that they are doing something good. maybe they’ll then do more good.
hey – #3. public outcry? public? either they pay full tuition and get what they want and supple,et with tutors or they pay less than full tuition and feel they can’t complain.
hey #7 – teachers shouldn’t come b/c they aren’t paid. yeh. but parents shouldn’t send their kids b/c the place is a zoo.
