Photos: Beis Rivka Gets a Facelift

You know those broken steps and stained bricks that greet our elementary school children who attend Beis Rivkah every morning? Aside from the visual blight they cause, the broken steps have become quite dangerous. The school administration has finally taken steps to fix it. Permanently.

    Dangerous to me is also having teachers work for you and not get paid. The administrators look to me with their beards and kapotes to be learned people. No? So how come they just glide over the part that says“ you shall not lay your head to sleep overnight if you owe money to your worker” or the part that says” Do not embaress another. that is equivalent to killing rl one. And that is a daily occurance to pressured and stressed and overworked parents at registration . So.. Yea for the steps but..???

    Was this done by the same builder who built the school and the Montgomery Street houses? I’m surprised that they lasted this long…

    just graduated 8th grade and everyday i was driven there my dad always asked me y it was broken like that and that it looked disgusting

    Before people get all heated up about them not paying the teachers in months…

    Maybe they could not pay the teachers because the donors could net get up the steps so they stopped coming…

    now lets make sure that the beautiful steps are leading to a place which has the kind of Ahavas Yisroel which the Rebbe wants. The kind where there is not Shame and Blame, the kind of place where, if a teacher has a negative attitude towards a student who is difficult in any way, that they go to a Mashpia who can guide them as to how to help the student.
    Getting them to graduate is a large accomplishment, but having them leave school with or without a diploma but feeling positive about themselves and about Torah, is the first. Its about Ahavas Yisroel and Yeras Shomayim.

    for all those complaining maybe its time for Bais Rivkah to puts out a list of 1)Who owes tuition 2) How much tuition people pay 3) how much money came in – in donation from our community i called school to see how long the steps are broken when i saw the article they told me over two years they told me that 1 parent who cared and came around to help to help with the problem. Thank You DOVID SPUTZ I saw you working! ITS TIME FOR THE COMMUNITY TO STOP COMPLAINING AND GET INVOLVED WITH OUR MOISDOS.

    EXCUSE ME NUMBER 12. yOU ARE TOtally ignorant. Yes if this yunger man Dovid Sputz did a good thing so kol hakovod. Who are you telling not to complain. I have every right. I pay full full tuition and my daughter did not get a report card because the teachers said since they did not get paid they will not fill them out. I have nothing against the teachers. THey work . they should get paid. Mister no. 12 do you have a job? DO you come home with a paycheck? I wish the teachers would strike ..every single one of them should not walk into a classroom until they are payed every penny owed them . I am willing to have my kids home all day if this will help them get paid. And stop this nonsense talk about how much tuition people pay. Is there one fundraiser in this school? Have they tried to make a dinner to raise money? Have they ever had an auction? The administrators sleep well. Why bother paying the teachers? They come to work anyway. Who would want to get involved with this school as long as these people are running it. So your self-righteousness is totally out of line

    Wow, all these beautiful and loving comments on rosh chodesh Av. In just a couple days we will once again have Tishe Bav, a very sad day in Jewish history.As we all know the lack of ahavas Yisoroel contributed immensley to the destruction and eventual exile. Did we not learn anything? Do we preach Mitzvos and Ahavas Yisroel on the street and in Chabad houses, but not practice anything right here at home?
    Do we actually believe in anything?

    To # 12 – I don’t owe a penny tuition. I have two girls in school and I personally pay a fortune in tuition also in talking with my friends they too pay a nice amount for their girls. So I do want to know why my childrens teachers are not being paid.

    If I was a member of the administration instead of taking abuse I would publish the amounts that pepole in crown heights pay in tuition and the amount that is owed just to show what CH Is all about.

    Enugh complaining if only some pepole paid close to full tuition we wouldn’t be in this mess.

    Parents drive fancy cars to the registration meeting and bargain like white trash.

    Parents stay in fancy bungalows and bargain for tuition.

    Parents go on cruises and bargain for tuition.

    Tuition covers approximately 20% – 30% of any school expenses. Oholei Torah payes Bais Chaya Mushka pays, Lubavitch Yeshivah Crown st. pays etc Bnos Menachem pays. The only Crown Hights Mosad that does not pay and couldn’t care less is Bais Rivkah Bais Rivkah just pays their office staff.

    to Reb Yid: You are talking about ahavas yisroel. Ahavas Yisroel is paying a worker who works for you. And the same Torah says one is ossur to owe his worker his pay over a night.Do you Reb Yid have a job? Have you any idea what it is like to go to work every day and even come home and work at home marking papers and NOT get paid? I do. My wife works in this school. I cannot understand how ANYONE could for a secong condone this behavior?

    Finally the school is doing something with their steps so none should get hurt so u genius is complaining. Find something better to do with your life!

    I’m a teacher in bnos Menachem and I do not get paid on time so don’t make up stories about other school gettin paid on time!
