Technology Catches Up to iLearn
iLearn’s Summer Program began today in full swing. The morning’s classes were started by Rabbi Mendel Levin, who taught the first lesson in a series about the halachos of brachos. The topic generated plenty of discussion and clarification regarding the details of the brachos of hamotzie and mezonos.
At eleven o’clock, Mrs. Ella Lerman captivated the group of women and girls with ‘five thousand years in one hour’ – an overview of the timeline of Jewish History.
Mrs. Faigy Yusewitz then taught the third class. The attendees learned a sicha of the Rebbe discussing the historic events surrounding the arrest and release of the Frierdiker Rebbe from soviet exile on 12-13 tamuz, and the lessons we can learn from them.
Aside from the main upgrade of this year’s iLearn and the sheer amount of classes on a wide variety of fascinating topics with such a broad range of phenomenal teachers, is this year’s innovation of having all of the classes streamed live over the internet. Participants watch and listen to the lectures over the web, receive copies of all of the handouts and are able to correspond with and ask questions to the lecturers.
Tonight’s classes will be: a maamar with Mrs. Leah Abraham at seven o’clock; Mrs. Sarah Hecht will begin the iLearn Beauty series with Makeup Tips, at eight o’clock; At nine o’clock, the iLearn Chinuch series will begin with “creating a wholesome, chassidishe and healthy home” by Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld – this class will also be open to men.
Registration for individual classes or for full series’ is still open. For information visit machonchana.org/ilearn or call 718-735-0030 x 106.
