Young Leadership Committee Cuts Ribbon at JCM

The third annual JCM Young Leadership Committee Gala took place on Thursday, June 7. Energized Jewish Youth from all over the tri-state area celebrated the unveiling of a brand new floor of exhibitions and cut the ribbon on the Noah’s ark pavilion, which the YLC has committed $360,000 to endow.

The $180-per-ticket event featured a popular violinist, DJ, open bar, sushi and Hors d’oeuvre.

Coordinated by Rabbi Chaim and Rochi Benjaminson, the young leadership division is a young, professional Jewish community within the Jewish Children’s Museum, whose purpose is to create, host, and promote meaningful Jewish cultural experiences that communicate awareness and tolerance for all people through entertainment and education of a Jewish life.

  • Disappointed

So, does the Museum promote DJ’d parties with mixed dancing? Because that’s what these are pictures of. Shame on the Tzivos Hashem for not standing up for what they’re supposed to stand for.

  • dont be ashamed

why dont they invite people with beards? there are plenty of people with beards in CH with a lot of money, in fact most people in these pictures dont have much themselves.

its about time we take pride in our own

ach zadikim yodu lishmecha yashvu yesharim es ponecha

  • Is this a Jewish institution ?

now it dont look like bs chabad or ay chabad
    which chabad is that ?
why was R’ Broin not in the pictures ?
Where is baumgarten ? or Benjaminson ?

since we don’t see any mashgiach Kashrus there was that a Kosher Party ?
i don’t believe any Kashrus Organization employ a Mashgiach that even Dreams to attend this kind of Pritzus Party

  • Sam

There was no mixed dancing and think of it as any Chabad House function..

  • M.B.

I don’t get it, what is this a benefit for exactly, who are these people ?

  • to # 1 & 2

In 2012 its not the learning or even money that you have that will make you famous

its how you dress what kind of car you drive and how many friends you have walking behind you, then you are worth something in 2012

  • att; typical CH negativity

so lame all of u get a job and stop being angry at the rest of the world

    live and let live!

  • hey, its the guy from the kardashians

and the reason ppl w beards arent present is because ppl with beards donate to yeshivos and not jcm type places because of stigma and their own egos. whats a better place to have your name on a wall, ohlai tora or jcm!?

look at aliya and yam for example, plenty of beards in CH but virtually no donations to these fine and necessary institutions from any beards. in fact, when rubashkin took over the chjcc, he cut yam funding to pennies, virtuallty forcing it into ineptitude. again, all about the ego!

beards stick with their own while the trimmers and shavers run the gammut with their donations. kind of ironic if you think about it!

  • Yechiel

There are plenty of beards here. The beards are sticking out from the unbuttoned shirts!

Did they have a presentation there about not going to college?

  • ruth gindburg

this is young jewish proffesional! most of them have great degrees… lol not go to college!!!

  • Fe

This should not be on this site there is noting the CH community can get positive from this.

besides for the of what happened there.

  • 40 yr in the hood

stop with the negitive statements …. enough already its boring ……….more knocking and more knocking
    geh nuke shoine

  • I-M

sorry pound cake some pickles and seltzer does it for you but actual people with actual standards, and yes, an education, require a bit more.
and yes, sorry a top notch violinist and good food is such a sin, sorry…

  • oy vavoy

JCM now BECAME NWO the New World Order.

    Hold on tight guys!

    Golus is getting darker.

  • To number 3

you are a sad individual. I take it you never been to a bar mitztvah or wedding, with a dj and mix dancing, they all have mashgichim, with a good hashkacha. This was not an event for community (and for a good reason).

  • to#1,2,311,15

god bless crown heights!!!! you guys who are complaining about there beard and athore thimgs have no right at allll to juge them. think about YOURSELVS. there are things in life that are hard and these things i guess are hard for them. the things that are hard for you guys is that you CANT KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED. so next time think 2times before you say somthing!!!

  • a nice person

What if some of the people in these pictures were to come to this website to remember the fun they had and they would see what all of you lubavitchers were saying about them.

You would probably turn them away from judaism for a long while.

  • Nu Nu!

What can you expect when the “Shliach” in charge is presenting themselves in a NON Chabad standard of Tznius!!! Absolutely pritzus! SHOULD NOT BE SHOWN ON WEBSITES ASSOCIATED WITH CHABAD-LUBAVITCH

A concerned Chosid of where are we all heading!

  • How Far do we Reach Out?

I understand the need for soliciting outsiders to donate to our moisdos, but how far do we go with our solicitation? Do we stand on street corners [vd’l] in the name of chinuch?

Maileh they host such an event in Manhattan, in some venue that is far from our neighborhood… not to say that it would be ok chas veshalom, which it is certainly not… but then they would have some sort of argument… but this is not appropriate.

Shame on the Benjaminsons, shame on Baumgarten, I understand that you are a little bit behind on payroll but pimping out the JCM for a few dollars is definitely not the solution.

  • wow

these are normal people from the real world…why must everything must be done to your needs down to a T? why must the world bow? are we the taliban now?

PS you werent invited so just shush!

  • ALL THIS IS ABOUT IS....

Binyominson’s son is obviously high on himself that he actually has half a job… so he showing it off to the world. The first pic he posts is of him and his not tznius wife and then he follows with his pics of his modern society crowd… AND HE’S PROUD OF HIMSELF!!!!

  • JCM stafferette

I myself work at the JCM in a different department than those mentioned in this article, and all day we are told to live modestly in the ways that befit bas Chabad with a STRICTLY enforced dress code from head to toe (literally…no open toe shoes, polish, etc).

The Benjaminsons did a beautiful job setting up this party, no doubt, but seriously guys, with a s*xy looking set up like this, it should it been done else where, such as Manhattan where it would have been more befitting. NOT at a place where we enforce tznius conduct in.

On the plus side, you raised enough money so now you can start paying your staff.

  • Just a thought

This article should be taken down for the benefit of everyone involved in this event (including the comments). It was obviously posted to SHOW OFF this event… but you’ve shown too much and we have seen enough. You obviously put your foot in your mouth so do good for yourself and stop while you’re ahead!

  • Your fans!!!!!!

Go Chaim and Rochi! You guys are doing a great job spreading the light to the young professionals of MANHATTAN! Its so nice they are giving Tzedaka and involved in the JCM!

  • yetzer hara

They really should take down the pictures of the rebbetzin.

I know women are allowed to dress beautifully but thats too much for any yestzer hara to handle.

  • Shliach

I dont know Binyominson’s son but from all the
bashing it looks like his doing something right
    continue the great work hatzlacha

  • zalman

come on crownheths.info whats with yiour tzniyus standars???

all you care is how many hits? how much do yoo sell your self for>???

  • nice!

    BEAUTIFUL EVENT!!!!!!!!!

Mimulo did an awesome job, and it looks like a lot of fun!

  • n.h.

sorry for my ignorance, but what is wrong with the way of dress of the rabbis wife?

  • DL

This is a great piece of PR for the JCM! Thanks for posting ans thank you for letting me see such great work by even greater ppl like the benjaminsons. All shluchos should look beautiful and tsnius like the one here. Thanks for posting this

  • Proud to be part of it!!

I am a Shliach and was not only proud to attend but also brought a young Jewish professional who was in dire need of meeting some nice Jewish counterparts and get more involved in helping a most wonderful organization. He loved it as did I and it had a very strong impact on him.

Some in the CH community can’t handle the realities of what life is like out there and wish to live in a cocoon. View the JCM as a Chabad House and not the Vaad Hakohol.

I was most pleased to hear the attendees talk amongst themselves of how proud they feel on being Jewish and belonging to Chabad organization – the JCM. Kudos to Rabbi Chaim and his wonderful wife Rochie, on organizing such a phenomenal event. Keep up your amazing work and don’t be despondent from those jealous board souls.

And a very special Thank You to Ch.info for posting it.

Signed – A Shliach from NJ
(Who would sign his name but won’t because he prefers not to have to sit up all night and reply to other board people’s nasty comments and would rather spend his time on spreading Yiddishkeit in his community)

  • whaaaat?

how is she not tsnius???she covered from head to toe!!! so shes wearing make up OMG STOP THE PRESSES!

you ppl are pathetic and need to get a life!

    this is an excellent moissed!

    shame on YOU!

  • to #30

    to #30

it is definitely tznius clothing but I see what you mean with the pictures being a yetzer hara. there are besutiful women everywhere. Leave the rebetzin and her great work alone.

  • one of hundreds

EVERY dinenr from EVERY chabad house has pictures EXACTLY like this!
    this isnt the CHJCC.
its meant to involve young proffesionals in good jewish causes!

  • Did You Know?

    this event happened WEEKS ago!

it was planned and excecuted perfectly, and was deliberately NOT publicized in CH because it was not meant for CH people, and almost NO ONE knew about it when it actually happened!

Well Done JCM for actually doing something to lighten the galus – even though you are in such deep financial troubles!

  • A Very Proud Beard

look at aliya and yam for example, plenty of beards in CH but virtually no donations to these fine and necessary institutions from any beards.

I don’t know about YAM, but Aliya does not want to be too associated with the Chassidishe crowd out of fear real hatted and bearded Chassidim will scare the merry band of oisvorfen away to use drugs elsewhere.

Za-kaki Tamir is the pride of Aliya. Would you expect any Chossid to donate to a place where he himself is told he is not welcome on Shabbos whilst gloating over having produced a Za-kaki?

    Wilkes-Barre is another story.

  • concerned.

the guy with the scissors is famous in the media, the kardashians best friends. just search him on google – jonathan cheban. known for being a SOCIALITE. what does this say about the chabad events and the messages they are sending?

  • CH

I’m not a mashpia so I don’t know if the event was appropriate to hold in CH. What I know for sure, the pictures should have been withheld from publicizing.

  • friend

Roch, you look amazing, you do amazing things. You and Chaim are bringing some great young adults closer to yidishkeit! Keep up the great work your doing!

  • friend #3

an amazing event put together by an amazing couple. great job Rochi and Chaim!!
