Pedestrian Hit Crossing Eastern Pkwy Service Lane

At around 5:00 PM today, a middle aged Jewish man was struck by a vehicle while crossing the Eastern Parkway service lane near the corner of Kingston Ave. The driver of the vehicle, an African-American woman, was very professional, and remained at the scene until the victim was taken to the hospital and a police report was filed.

The unfortunate accident occurred in front of the Kehot bookstore; the driver of the vehicle called 911 while other standers-by called Hatzolah – who arrived first and took the victim straight to Kings County Hospital.

His condition is listed as stable, and none of his sustained injuries are life threataning b”h.

“The driver of the vehicle, an African-American woman, was very professional, and remained at the scene until the victim was taken to the hospital and a police report was filed”

Now we’re applauding her because she didn’t just take off? Are we supposed to award her a medal for not acting like an crazed animal? Your NOT SUPPOSED TO FLEE after hitting a pedestrian!

    Refuah shlema to the victim!

  • just saying

Maybe it was necessary to write that to prevent people from writing idiotic nasty comments otherwise. It’s their way of saying, it was an accident and she did the right thing after, so lets not all gang up on her now and write nasty things.

We hear so many reports of hit and runs,
so it’s good that we have a case of someone
acting correctly, not that she should be rewarded
for hurting anyone. But compared to just running away,
I see nothing wrong by calling that “professional.”

I am seriously afraid to walk on eastern parkway, people just have no regard for pedestrians or anyone else on the road or that matter. I too was hit by a car as I was crossing the street and let me tell you, it isnt fun, my entire life has been effected even though BH my injhuries werent life threatening.

Best wishes for a refuah shelaimah to the man thaqt was hit. he should have a full, speedy recovery

#4, Which profession? I call it “responsible”, but it’s not “professional” unless she does this for a living, which I would hope she doesn’t!
