Didn’t Take Long: Kingston Avenue Gets Torn Up

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Not even a full week has passed since the completion of the Kingston Avenue paving and the much dreaded sounds of jackhammers have returned. A crew of construction workers was busy cutting up the fresh asphalt at the intersection of President Street this morning.

The construction crew from Triumph Construction cut two holes straight down through the asphalt and concrete and were seen pulling lead wires through the holes. One hole was relatively small, while the second was almost in the center of the intersection and far larger.

One worker told our photographer “no one bothered checking the phone wires before closing [the street] up, so now we need to rip it all up again to fix it.”

Calls to the general contractor who is in charge of the entire Kingston Avenue rehabilitation project went unanswered.

  • On my way out

I agree with #2. I’ve already been applying for jobs outside of the ghetto.

Duh. They always spray it up with orange and yellow paint and cut it up within a couple of weeks

  • I saw it

You should have seen my face when I walked passed it today and saw them digging… almost like a twilight zone

    Destruction of Reconstruction

If you live in the Crown Heights neighborhood you probably noticed the reconstruction of our main street taking place. This reconstitution has been in progress for several months. Job managers expect to rap things up in two weeks time.

    Question:

How long after they finish renewing our streets will companies like ConEd and Notional Grid move in to demolish our newly refurbished streets?

Here at 1bigcholent will wager that in will be less then 24 hours. In six months time, Kingston Ave. will resemble the same Kingston Ave. before the construction.

    What do you think?

  • disappointed

This is normal for All of NYC & is done all the time because one hand has no Idea what the other is doing

  • SHAMEFUL

Does anyone think the City is incapable of coordinating the work properly? They’re capable, very capable. This is INTENTIONAL. It happens all the time throughout the City. More $$$ for the corrupt unions from the corrupt politicians from OUR pockets. Shameful, utterly shameful.

  • Very absurd

This is a scandal. After investing so much money and time so they will not need to open the street again. They do the exact opposite thing. Someone better look in to this.
    A Hummel geshray!!!
