Shomrim Answer the Call to Yet Another Odd Rescue

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Earlier this week Shomrim were called to help free the leg of a young boy who got entangled in the frame of his bicycle, but Tuesday, an even more bizarre call came in. A girl was trapped inside of her basement apartment after someone had tied their dog up to her door!

The incident occurred on Carroll Street. Shomrim received the call from a scared girl, who was surprised when she attempted to leave her basement and the scared and angry dog barked at her.

When Shomrim arrived on the scene, they determined the situation would be best handled by the police and the ASPCA. A quick call to 911 brought officers over, and one veteran officer handled the situation admirably, climbing over the dog and untying it from the door knob. Once free, the pooch calmed down and even became friendly.

The dog was taken by animal control to a shelter.

  • :( poor girl

I get why she wouldnt want to open the door, but it was probably a bit humorous for the police officers

  • one poodle

One poodle and 6 police officers. Its good to see that the police officers are not so tied up in other work.

  • Woof

All those cops for a barking dog, but when a Yid gets mugged they don’t show.

    Cute doggie!

  • Wooooow!

Nebach! That was not a violent dog!! He was wagging his tail the whole time! Pathetic 5 cops!! He’s a real hero for climbing the wall!

  • funny

and i think the cops were scared of the dog!!

  • Buddy we miss you

That is definitely not a poodle. Maybe a bichon frisee? Wonder who would leave such an expensive circus dog tied up outside and walk away.

  • Mylo

Abandoning a domesticated animal is a real tzar bal hachayim.
The pooch was barking to alert someone that he was tied up.
I hope it gets adopted quickly.

This should be sent to America’s Funniest Videos! No less than 6 cops were there to save the situation! Hurray for NY’s Finest! They got the POODLE out of the way!

  • i agree

As an owner of a great dane, this entire story from beginning to end sounds totally ridiculous… sad that the girl is afraid of a dog, sad that the police are so inept…

  • Conceit

It’s sad that you all chose to laugh at the girl. familiarity with dogs means that your’e not a typical frum Yid who doesn’t keep dogs and isn’t used to them. It seems that all you brave souls who “aren’t afraid” of anything, including mocking a Jewish girl in distress are missing Fear of Heaven too.
