Crown Heights FC Girl Volunteers Appreciated

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — More than 250 Friendship Circle volunteers enjoyed an evening of appreciation marking the end of year of tremendous success.

In a beautiful showing of the unifying spirit that is the hallmark of Friendship Circle, girls from all Crown Heights schools, including Beis Rivkah, Bnos Menachem, Beis Chaya Mushka and Bnos Chomesh were in attendance.

Each week, hundreds of volunteers give of their free time to give the gift of friendship to children with special needs. They also assist with many other Friendship Circle programs that give relief and respite to the parents and siblings of these special children.

A special barbecue dinner was prepared to thank the girls for their dedication and commitment. Entertainment was provided my the world famous mentalist, Marc Sky, who wowed the girls with his act.

Volunteer coordinator, Chaya Chein, who directs the year long activities of the volunteers, thanked the volunteers for their dedication , commitment and giving of their time to the Friendship circle.

Special thanks were given to Beis Rivkah volunteer presidents, Itty Barber, Sara Kupfer, Chaya Groner and Sara Varon; along with Bnos Menchem presidents, Raizy Chein and Sarky Friedman.

The Volunteer of the Year Award was given to Draizy Wilansky, who put countless hours into her Friendship Circle activities.

“We are only able to our work thanks to the dedication of our volunteers,” says Friendship Circle director, Mrs Chaya Eckhaus. “I am constantly amazed by the amount of time and effort they are willing give to us.”

The volunteers were also introduced to next year’s presidents. Chana Raizel Abramowitz, Rivky Hartman, Mushky Shemtov, and Shaina Wolff of Beis Rivkah and Bluma Pinson and Sarky Friedman of Bnos Menachem.
