‘Sneak Preview’ Dinner at the JCM
This year’s annual Jewish Children’s Museum dinner will feature a sneak preview of the highly anticipated fourth floor.
After years of planning, designing and building, the exhibits of the fourth floor are almost ready and on May19th 2011 its doors will open for a first look at the new floor.
Dinner guests will be invited to take the trip through the interactive life size models and hands on activities that bring to life the stories of the bible and the Jewish people’s journey through history. As guests meander through the exhibits they will enjoy sampling some of the foods that relate to the episode they find themselves.
When the elevators open, join Abraham in his tent and enjoy some of the finest meats like he once served his guests, sample different flavored waters as Rebecca serves the camels water, and enjoy fruit smoothies incorporating the seven species of Ancient Israel. ‘Rashi’ wines will be served in the libraries of Jewish history’s greatest scholars and enjoy falafel hummus and salads by the kotel in Israel of today. As you walk into the Noah’s Ark toddler play area enjoy animal cookies while going down the slide! Executive Director Yerachmiel Benjaminson says, ‘This dinner is about provoking all the senses and giving participants a total experience, this isn’t just a trip to a museum, this is something special’
Project Manager, Steve Samuels, will be on hand to explain the workmanship what has gone into each display and how the exhibits were created. ‘This is a project like none ever before. All the exhibits are custom made and a lot of research has been done to ensure they are both educational and enjoyable to children and adults alike.’
During the evening The Jewish Children’s Museum directors will be honoring people who have made this project a reality and giving thanks for all they have done.
