ULYOP Goes Whole

After consulting with many parents, United Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Ocean Parkway is now offering an advanced diet of extra fresh fruits, vegetables, whole wheat bread and other whole grain products.

What are Benefits? You may ask…

Studies show that eating whole grains instead of refined grains lowers the risk of many chronic diseases. Some studies show that the reduced risks occurred from as little as one serving changed daily, from refined to whole grains. We learned every whole grain in your diet helps B”H.

The benefits of whole grains most documented by repeated studies include:

* stroke risk reduced 30-36%
* type 2 diabetes risk reduced 21-30%
* heart disease risk reduced 25-28%
* better weight maintenance
* reduced risk of asthma
* healthier carotid arteries
* reduction of inflammatory disease risk
* healthier blood pressure levels
* less gum disease and tooth loss and many more

Rabbi Dechter Yeshiva principal stated “If it’s good for the talmidim it’s good for the yeshiva.

    VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!! Others schools should follow! Rabbi Dechter, another benefit you will see is better behaved students!
    Kol Hakavod!

  • Exercise for Chabad Yeshiva students

    Great initiative which would really benefit from an excersie program as well. If we are quoting studies then the incredible brain boost that our sluggish talmisdim would get from a daily workout would be awesome-they would learn far more more optimally as well as have more energy.

    I am a teacher in this school, and I feel this will affect the behavior of us Bochurim regarding in-class conduct. For example, eating in class, throwing food, etc. For future advice, don’t give fruit to special-needs Bochurim during school hours. If you don’t know this already, this is a special-needs school.
