After learning for a full day on Sunday, despite the rising snow, students of Lubavitcher Yeshiva finally turned to the outdoors; but no, not exactly what you may be thinking. ULY Boys Shovel for the Elderly!
After learning for a full day on Sunday, despite the rising snow, students of Lubavitcher Yeshiva finally turned to the outdoors; but no, not exactly what you may be thinking. All these students wanted to know was what good can good come from this snow? and how can we use the snow for our Avodas Hashem?
The answer came quick – to shovel the snow for those who cannot do it on their own.
Time: 7:00pm
Meeting Point: the Albany Entrance of Lubavitcher Yeshiva.
The Yeshiva’s building manager Rabbi Yossi Langsam arranged enough shovels for all the boys, Rabbi Turk brought his sled and they were off. Bundled, to fight the winds and freezing temperatures; they went from house to house of the elderly and disabled, and thoroughly shoveled from front door right down to the curb.
Several people came out to snap pictures; the Levertov family on President street brought out hot drinks for the boys and finally at the end of a long evening the boys were treated to conplimentary doughnuts from Gombo’s.
The boys say they had a blast but importantly they are happy that they were able to help others during this tough storm.

you walk into a bakery, you pick up a fresh chocolate danish, it looks really tempting, it smells great. You bite into it; the texture is just right, the taste is perfect. Do you go to the back of the bakery to thank the baker for the great danish???
No, you compliment the bakery manager or the owner!
All the teachers do amazing things; can’t deny that. Yet the school manager, or as we call him; the principal gets the credit.
Thats life!

To #11:
If it was the bakers idea to use highest quality chocolate, and the owner goes along with the idea, does the baker get any credit?
