Oholei Torah Celebrates Yud Tes Kislev

2 days, 1600 Talmidim, 3400 Seudos, 7 major farbrengens and 100 Shuls and Yeshivas visited, over the days of Yud Tes and Chof Kislev, the walls of Oholei Torah permeated with Niggunim, Farbrengens, and Chassidus. Not withstanding the restraints of Erev Shabbos, the 1600 talmidim in all divisions had a full measure of chassidishkeit and celebration.

Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, Director of Oholei Torah, encouraged the principals, rebbeim and hanhola to celebrate 19 Kislev with a great shturem, and chayos, as is proper for such a Yom Tov. Rabbi Rosenfeld also thanked the many families who sponsored farbrengens in their homes all over Crown Heights over Shabbos for their sons classes.

This massive technical organization was orchestrated by the devoted management staff headed by Mottel Bronchtain.

Kindergarten Program

In both school locations, grand Yud Tes Kislev rally’s were held. With special Yom Tov hats, decked out in white shirts, the young kinderlach felt that it’s a special day.

Under the direction of Mrs. Faige Winner-Hertzel, the program a few days before the Kindergartens joined together for a special Puppet Show. And on Yud Tes Kislev itself the children experienced a true Chassideshe Farbrengen complete with L’chaim’s, farbaisen, niggunim, the 12 psukim and tzedodakah.

No doubt that the Oholei Torah Kindergarten Kinderlach shared their excitement of 19 Kislev with their families at their shabbos tables.

Pre1A, 1st and 2nd Grades

A melvaeh malka event was held, with Fathers and Sons, full of chassidseh toichen,. Including niggunim, music and the pesukim. Berel Silverberg and Bentzi Wolowick said a Dvar Torah. Rabbi Levi Goldstein said a most interesting story in a puppet show fashion

During the niggunim fathers and sons danced together in a true chasideshe yom tov spirit. Afterwards they enjoyed a most entertaining show by the twins from France

The Melaveh Malka was organized by Rabbi Meir Shimshoni, Principal.

3rd, 4th and 5th Grades

Rabi Zalman Goldstein, Principal, organized the days events. In honor of 19th of Kislev, the younger division became full fledged bochurim, and davened in the Raitport Beis Medrash. It is no question in our minds that as the Alter Rebbe who answered that he is going to Mizritch to learn how to Daven, is proud of today’s Oholei Torah boys, who davened with such kavonah and chayos.

Following the Davening they had a chassideshe farbrengen in the Main Ballroom, where Mendel Kugel and Moti Hertz played nigunim, watched a video on 19 Kislev and participated in a raffle.

6th, 7th and 8th Grades

The Grades gathered at 7:30 am to learn Chassidus with Rabbi Levi Goldstein, who spoke of the importance of Davening with Kavonah, followed by Shacharis,

Which Rabbi Hershel Lustig, Dean commented how the shiur inspired the talmidim to daven a with much greater excitement and kavonah.

Following Davening the boys sat down for a Chassideshe “breakfast” where they heard most interesting stories from Rabbi Boruch Jacobson.

On Friday Night many of the classes gathered at homes of the talmidim to continue the farbrengens.Shabbos

The event was co-ordinated by Rabbis Sholom Goldstein and Yehoshua Lustig, principals in the Cheder.

Mesifta

Beginning on Thursday Night, each class farbrenged with their mashpia, and on Friday morning they davened in 770. A general shiur was given by Rabbi Nissim Lagziel, in chassidus to the entire Mesivta, followed by the bochurim going out on Mivztiom .

Friday before Licht Bentching they gathered at Oholei Torah for a pre-Shabbos farbrengen by Rabbi Dovid Kahanov, which set the atmosphere for the entire Shabbos program.

The bochurim davened together mincha and kabolos Shabbos followed by Seudas Shabbos led by Rabbi Zushe Wilhelm, Menahel, and other members of the Hanhola. A ma’amor Chassdus was chazzered by Chaniania Wechter ad Mendel Nemirovsky.

During the Seudah, Rabbis Sholom Majesky, Chaim Fogelman and Shlomo Sternberg spoke to the bochurim.

Beis Medrash

On Thursday afternoon over 120 Oholei Torah bochurim went to over 100 shuls and yeshiva in Queens, Flatbush and Boro Park to spread chassidus and speak about 19 Kislev. This project was co-ordinated by Gedaliah Hertz and Yehuda Drizin

On Thursday Night, a grand Farbrengen took place in the Zal with members of the Hanhola. Organized by Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, head Mashpia of the Bais Medrash.

Special guest speaker Rabbi Joseph Rosenfeld, Executive Director of Oholei Torah. who gave a heartfelt plea to the bochurim to hold dear their time in Oholei Torah, which was founded by the Rebbe, and to have even a greater devotion to Chassidus and Darchei Chassidus.

Rabbi Pinchus Korf then gave over the story of the Ma’aser and Geulah.

Friday Night the bochrim gathered again to eat a Seudas Shabbos in the Zal, and continued the farbrengen of the night before.
