OTEG Goes Boating in Central Park

On Monday, OTEG (Oholei Torah – Eighth Grade) went boating in Central Park in Manhattan. The trip was a reward for the Bochrim who finished the “Tishrei Challenge over Sukkos.

After Davening Mincha in 770 the Boys took a train to Manhattan where they had snacks, went boating, played a bit and returned to Crown Heights.

The Bochurim also did Mivtzoim all day. They put Teffilin 6 people.

OTEG, Run by Rabbi Yossi Bryski, is in its fifth year now. It provides the eighth graders of Oholei Torah many activities throughout the year.

Why is not one person wearing a life jacket????!!!!!!!

    Who is responsible for this!!!!!!???

Agree with #1. This is an outrage. Wasn’t there already a boating disaster during the summer in upstate NY? How many more tragedies do we need?

Who was in charge of these kids?

  • A happy camper

The water is knee deep. They dont give life jackets in central park.

Looks like the kids had fun.

    #3, you are a liar.

I used to work for the Parks Commission.

Central Park Lake is 18 acres in size, and average depth is 6-8 feet. A person can easily drown in it.
The men who give you the boat offer everyone a life vest. You are encouraged to take it. You have the right to refuse.

So #3, I do not know why you choose to lie about such an important thing. Shame on you.
