Beis Midrash Chovevei Torah in conjunction with Central Yeshivah 770 to launch special semicha program for upcoming shnas halimudim.

Semicha registration is underway, as bochurim who are now completing their yeshivah shlichus begin to enroll in various semicha programs around the world.

In response to the request of many bochurim who wish to learn in close proximity to 770, but also want the personalized hadracha offered in out-of-town programs—Beis Midrash Chovevei Torah has joined together with Central Yeshivah 770 to form a special class in Yoreh De’ah for the upcoming shnas halimudim.

Sedarim will be held in Beis Midrash Chovevei Torah, where participants will enjoy specialized hadracha featuring helpful overviews and summaries, as they are introduced to the unfamiliar concepts and complexities of Yoreh De’ah.

HaRav Yosef Y. Barber, experienced teacher and author of the popular study aid Sayatta Lelimud Shulchan Aruch on Hilchos Basar Bechalav, will head the program and serve as full-time mayshiv.

Exams will be arranged by HaGaon R’ Zalman Labkowski, Shlita, Rosh Yeshivah of Central Lubavither Yeshivah, from where graduates will receive their semicha.

“It’s geared to more serious bochurim who want to learn in a conventional yeshivah setting during what is their final year of formal yeshivah learning,” says Rabbi Barber. “It’s an opportunity to be a ‘770 Bochur’ and also enjoy the benefits of a smaller semicha program,” he adds.

Enrollment is limited; references required. For more information or to apply, contact Rabbi Yosef Barber at 917-975-4111 (evenings) or email: Rabbibarber@yahoo.com.
