New School Bus for Beis Rivkah Head Start

Beis Rivkah Head Start took delivery today of a brand new 2011 school bus, which will ferry the growing number of small children attending the head start program to and from school.

Veteran bus driver Gadi Hershkop will be driving the new bus, while his previous bus will be used to start a new bus route for the head start.

A special thanks goes to Rabbis Benji Stock, Lima Minkowitz, Yitzchok Zirkind and Mrs. Sara Tenenbaum who worked hard and arranged the new bus.

    I’m impressed, even the buses they had until now are in pretty good shape, they are clean and taken care of. I’m told they are already 9 years old. Gadi and Chaim go above and beyond and as a parent I really appreciate that and feel comfortable sending my must precious item on the bus, in fact this is already my fourth child going on chaims bus.

  • Chaim Hershkop second best driver ;)

    Believe it or not.

    ABOUT SEAT BELTS ON THE BUS.

    Why no seat belts?
    Very few injuries happen in school buses. Instead of requiring seat belts, school buses are designed and constructed differently from passenger cars. School buses protect passengers through “compartmentalization”, a design that includes:
    • Seats with high backs;
    • Seats filled with energy-absorbing material;
    • Seats placed close together to form compartments;
    • Strong seat anchorages.
    Studies have shown that adding seat belts to the current seating configuration of a school bus can increase the chance of head and neck injuries. For a seat belt to be effective, it must be worn correctly, snug and on the upper thighs. Because school vehicles carry passengers from the very young to high school students, if seat belts were used, they would need to be readjusted and their use monitored. A seat belt not worn correctly may cause serious injuries.

    Road Safety,
    It starts with you.
