The Best Thing to Happen in Crown Heights

United Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Ocean Parkway runs a Middos Tovos Shabbaton in Crown Heights! A new part of the Shmule Shrage Middos Tovos Program, Erev Shabbos teams ready to pull off random acts of goodness and kindness were strategically placed in high traffic areas of Kingston Ave. to maximize the good effect.

The talmidim carried bags home, held the doors open, greeting all they met, entertained children so parents would be able to shop and get home quickly for Shabbos, even adding $.25 to parking meters that expired saving them an Erev Shabbos ticket.

“I cant believe it, I step outside with things to toivel and two kids from Queens and Flatbush say good Erev Shabbos can I help you sir?” said C.D. Jankolovitz. Mrs. Pellen excitingly exclaimed “This is unbelievable this is great”. “Thank you, this really exemplifies what the program is about and I’m proud of all the children involved. It shows sensitivity for others. Kudos to the staff of Yeshiva and The Shmule Shrage Middos Tovos Program.” Mrs. R. Shrage.

This spectacular show of unconditional kindness lasted over two hours. Then it was time to get them selves ready for Shabbos. Inspirational Farbrengens by the homes of Rabbi Harari and Rabbi Dechter reinforced their good work followed by a special middos video presentation made possible by Yanky Asher of JEM.

    this is fantastic! but why just this once on Erev Shabbos> shouldn’t these boys know aleady that this is the way they should ALWAYS behave?

    WOW!! Amazing!! Even though the kids are forced to do Chesed, they will ultimately feel good about what they are doing, and the people that they are helping will be grateful!! Its a win/win situation!!!

    Most of the boys were from outside of the Crown Heights area (Flatbush, Queens) otherwise I’m sure they would be doing it weekly : ) They are really great kids
