Afterschool Program by Darchai Menachem for Boys of all Schools!

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Darchai Menachem recently announced the expansion of their afterschool program to incorporate boys from all schools in Crown Heights. The afterschool program consists of the Sparks Boys Choir, a first aid course, a photography course, and music.

Along with this announcement came another, the merger of Rabbi Yossi Goldsteins Temimim Boys Choir and Rabbi Danny Finkelmans Sparks Boys Choir, and together they are now open to boys from all schools in the community under Darchai Menachem.

The first set of tryouts for the new choir started strong with over thirty boys taking their shot and joining the new group. Crown Heights can expect to be hearing great new sound with the new mixture of Goldstein and Finkelman talent!

The goal for the after school program is to bring out the talent in each kid while utilizing the hours after school to keep the kids busy with positive and practical activities. The school is also in the midst of starting a Shabbos program and more in the next coming months

For more information and to enroll your child in Darchai Menachems afterschool program you can call (718) 953-2919.

  • Exercise Physiologist

That’s great but some kind of physical activity would help the kids tremendously! Karate, kick boxing, basketball… any kind of cardiovascular activity.

  • SHOLOM AGE 10

I WOODNT JOYN BECUZ LUBAVITH MUZIK IS ALL THE SAME NO CLASICAL ROK OR ROCK THEERS VERY FEW GOOD JEWISH SONGS

  • MOMMY

    To Sholom Age 10:

WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS. WHAT ARE YOU DOING ONLINE. DO YOU THINK THAT LUBAVITCH MUSIC IS SO BAD OR JEWISH MUSIC CAN NOT BE GOOD.
HOW DOES A 10 YEAR OLD YIDDISHE BOY KNOW ABOUT ROCK MUSIC.

SHAME ON YOUR FAMILY. THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD YIDDISHE SONGS OUT THERE, ASK YOUR FAMILY AND THEY CAN TELL YOU.

P.S. PARENTS SHOULD NOT LET YOUNG KIDS COMMENT ON WEBSITES. IT GIVES THEM BAD CHINUCH AND EXPOSES THEM TO NOT GOOD STUFF AND FROM THERE IT GETS WORSE CHAS V’SHOLOM.

  • ATT: MOMMY

Boy, are you and the wrong track.
Screaming at a 10-year-old boy for having his own opinion?

I’m a 20-year-old and agree more with him than with your reaction.

Instead of screaming at the kid, maybe a little advice would’ve been more affective.

Say, “Did you hear of that new Benny Friedman CD, it’s amazing!”

I’m not trying to bash you, just putting things in perspective.

BTW, this after-school program is phenomenal!

  • Dear MOMMY

    Dear “MOMMY”,

If “MOMMY”s didn’t have internet then their little boys would not be able to use it!

Obviously you do not have kids, because if you did, you’d be a hypocrite.

That said, you are right about one thing: The kid has not been exposed to much music (or much else. You’d figure that a kid who has such “broad ideas” would at least be able to spell basic words…)

  • To MOMMY

Watch what you say, Sholom represents all people like me!
except i’m 18. I WANT to lien to “Other” music but i can hold myself back.

the only prob. with him is he is 10.

  • grow up

    I’m 20, 18, 10…

    U all sound 2

This “10” year old aint ten all he is doing is trying to get ur attention

    Yaaaaaay job well done

Why use this comment area for petty statements

There r so many stories that go online u can gagagoogoo about why do it on one were the real kids the ones who will be joining this after school program will be reading

  • yosef

    To Mommy,

You’re right. As a single father of six I can appreciate your candor and respect. Why a ten year old would enact on his own rather then parental supervision associated with it cannot be damaging at all. On the other hand I do feel that education should not be hypocritical at all!

  • ot parent

Notice its for all boys not just darchai. Plus some credit to OT maybe after all they supported the choir merge.

  • Darchai rules!

Can we get back to the subject at hand? Yeshiva Darchai Menachem’s extra curricular programs???

Darchai is an exceptional school and it’s a darn shame that all kids are not given the opportunity to express themselves and their talents the way the Darchai boys do. In Darchai there is not 1 boy who is there to be a seat warmer. Each student is given a chance to explore what he has to offer within the classroom and in his own personal life.

Sadly, there are those “elite” from other “Goliath” schools that are threatened by little “David” YDM and purposely attempt to undermine their much needed fundraising programs.

PLEASE SUPPORT DARCHAI MENACHEM’S CHINESE AUCTION! PURCHASE RAFFLE TICKETS! DON’T HOLD BACK!

Know that every dollar spent for Darchai goes towards classrooms and programs. No padding ppl’s wallets or homes.

  • the sebags

go netanel you look good and sing fantastic!! we love you and are so proud of you!!

  • Proud Former Parent of Darchai Menachem

Thank you “Darchai Rules!” As a former parent at Darchai I can tell you that it is truly a shining jewel in our community! The learning is top notch. You often hear the cliche’ that they teach to the individual child- well Darchai truly DOES do that! They are creative and innovative in their instruction, while teaching total hiskashrus to the Rebbe. The administration and teachers are true role models who completely devote themselves to the child’s chinuch and to the child as ‘a person.’ This school deserves every penny you donate because it all goes straight back to our community’s boys.

  • to sholom

i’m 22 and agree with you, there’s barely any good jewish music. israeli music is about the only good jewish music. To all those parents out there, if your kids were to listen to non jewish music they’d be turned on right away. i have so many younger relatives that can’t stand jewish music.

  • To mommy

I know so many people that would agree with sholom, they’re all different ages, and they are mature.
