CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Vacation Crown Heights offered continues programming throughout this summer. Hundreds of women took advantage of this wonderful opportunity, as the program attracted more and more interest. Vacation Ch got lots of requests to expand their program and include classes for men. Upon those requests inserted into the program are classes available for men. The first class on the program, open to both men and women was a Highlight of this week. The Chinuch workshop gave lots of participants the opportunity to hear Rabbi Yossi Simpson, Principal of Lubavitch Yeshivah. Rabbi Simpson addressed the challenges of Chinuch, “Keeping the Outside Influences Out” Given on Thursday August 6, 2009. Many more Chinuch and Sholom Bais workshops welcome men to join the program.

Hundreds of women took advantage of this wonderful opportunity, as the program attracted more and more interest. Vacation Ch got lots of requests to expand their program and include classes for men. Upon those requests inserted into the program are classes available for men. The first class on the program, open to both men and women was a Highlight of this week. With years of experience in the field of Chinuch, Mrs Leiberman addressed modern day strategies to grapple chinuch challenges, and many women took the opportunity to ask personal questions. Mrs Sara Leiberman gives a fantastic workshop titled –Chinuch V’Hadracha on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM. This turned out to be an incredible in depth discussion on Chinuch.

Another highlight was the Monday evening course by Mrs Malkie Katz on Cooking Shabbos in Under Two Hours followed by Party Planning with Mrs DL Wagshal.

A few key classes, in Vacation Ch, are our ongoing, Chavrusah, Chinuch workshops now for men & Women, Sholom Bais, and Balabatishkeit workshops. This coming week brings a new array, and new excitement! The week starts with a workshop lots of us struggle with: Organization 101. Organizing your home with, Mrs Malkie Chein, who will give tips and organization skills to make your apt or home clean, clear, fresh and organized. Do you ever feel tongue tied when trying to talk to your teen? Learn how to avoid power struggles and find the balance between proper guidance and giving space. Mrs Dina Gorkin, an educator for teens for over eight years. The week concludes with A Taharas Hamishpacha class with Mrs Labkowski and A newly added Tfillah class with Rabbi Johnson for men and women! Do you feel like you are reciting the davening, but lacking the feeling and kavanos? Do you want to learn to daven and enter the New Year like a chassid should? Learning a maamarim on tfilla is the first step in this avodah. Learn life skills on Tfillah on Thursday evening at 8:15 PM.

Additional upcoming classes for men: Wednesday August 19th at 8PM How to Raise a Chayal. Talk so kids will listen. Learn to communicate with your teenagers. This session is a must for all parents and most effective when both parents are present. With Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld. Thursday August 20, at 8PM First Aid For Jewish Marriages Sholom Bais workshop for couples with Rabbi Danny Schonbach. An eye opener and must for couples of all ages and backgrounds.     I think the classes are amazing! However I do not think that coed classes are the right example to set for our children. I think the men should have classes in a different place.
