Mrs. Tzirl Goldman, An All-Star Among Us

People Magazine has launched a new contest, titled “All Stars Among Us,” naming individuals who have gone “above and beyond to serve their community.”

The contest’s web site lists individuals who have made a difference in the lives of others, three finalists who were chosen to represent each Major League Baseball team.

The top vote-getter for each team will be honored at the 2009 MLB All Star Game, and one will be featured in People Magazine.

Tzirl Goldman, founder of the Friendship Circle at the Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights, was selected as one of three finalists representing the NY Yankees.

Tzirl is also the director of Soul II Soul, a yearly benefit concert to raise funds for the education of children with special needs.

Tzirl’s Pitch: “Tzirl has dedicated the last eight years to helping special needs children in her community. She started a program called the friendship circle, which pairs teens with special children for friendship and fun. She also has run eight annual concerts to pay for education for special kids.”

hopefully, tzirl will get enough votes os she’ll be writing about, and friendship circle will be known to all…donations…
    and a tznius cover!

  • I wish people would just be b-simcha!

To BestWatchman: Grow up. When someone makes such a beaitful kiddush Hashem as friendship circle is, they deserve for the whole world to know and look at them and say “Wow, Those frum Jews dont just live in their own bubble, they are really trying to make a difference in world”
What are you doing other than being the Vaad HaTznius? You should proud of Mrs Goldman and honored that she belongs to the same community as you. I surely hope you are not on shlichus…
