Friendship Circle Celebrates Extraordinary Year

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — The Friendship Circle marked another successful year by celebrating with their volunteers. More than two hundred packed into the Jewish Children’s Museum on Tuesday, May 26 for desserts and entertainment. The evening, aptly titled Light the World, celebrated the year long efforts of the dedicated Friendship Circle volunteers. Awards and thanks were aplenty, as were delicious desserts.

Volunteers in this organization give of their free time to assist children with special needs. Their dedication affects the lives of hundreds of children and truly does light up the world. It was therefore fitting for the volunteers to enjoy an evening for themselves after a year of tireless work.

The event was highlighted by a spectacular concert by Rivkah Krinsky. Volunteers had a wonderful time singing, dancing and clapping along, as she enthralled the crowd with her musical talents. “It was an amazing night,” said Chana, a volunteer, “We all had so much fun together; it was a great way to end a great year.”

The directors of the Friendship Circle showed their tremendous appreciation to all the volunteers, and particularly to the volunteer presidents who showed incredible dedication throughout the entire year. Hindy Yarmak, Chaish New and Rish Gopin of Beis Rivkah and Shaina Frimerman and Esta Rimler of Bnos Menachem ensured that this past year’s programs ran smoothly and efficiently.

The volunteers were then introduced to next year’s presidents: Sara Mochkin, Mushka Green and Zeldy Minkowitz of Beis Rivkah and Chanky Friedman and Shaina Frimerman of Bnos Menachem

Yocheved Eber was presented with the prestigious Volunteer of the Year award, in tribute to her devotion to the Friendship Circle children.

While the Friendship Circle celebrated the success of a year passed, they looked forward to the year ahead. G-d willing, they look to improve on their programs and services, and with the help of their incredible volunteers, will no doubt achieve even greater success.

when i graduated BR in 1980,my class opted not to have a year book for fear our photos would be seen by classmates brothers.you can make up whatever excuses you want for why it’s ok for teenage girls to pose for photos(some more aidel then others)which will be seen by many bochrim and men.if you feel i’m being over sensitive, just realize it’s this type of hairgush that kept us away from the multitude of problems we now have.

  • HERE-S YOUR ANSWER

what’s not tznius??? is displaying girls and women before bochurim and men.

There is not ONE Rov who will say this is appropriate for a chassidishe site.

would you ever expect pictures like this in the Kfar chabad magazine??

Would anyone in their right mind present a community magazine with pictures of this sort before the REbbe???

This site like all Chabad sites is a internet magazine and we should have higher standards and reckognize the place of women is in modesty not flagrant display.

  • to kol hakavod

did u go to rabbi ganz’s shier? he said no sweaters with words on them. it’s not tznius

  • beutiful centerpeices

The boxes with the pictures on them add so much to the center peices! Great job!

  • to --to kol hakavod--

i thought rabbi ganz is only for men. now i understand whats not tznius, maybe CH.info can next time do something like post a link to the pics so not EVERYONE (eg from the opposite gender) have to see them
btw i dont hear rabbi ganz because he speaks to men im a girl
and whats bad with writing on sweaters? im honestly curious

and those brothers usually can see the yearbooks ONLY if the sisters allow. the sisters can ban it.
