ULY’s Sixth and Seventh Grades Celebrate Lag BaOmer!
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Lubavitcher Yeshivas Sixth and Seventh Grades gathered on their rooftop for their own Bon Fire and Barbeque where the students sat around the fire and heard a Chassidishe Story and took on new Hachlotos.
Lighting of the fire was ‘auctioned’ off to the one who came up with the best Hachloto, the winner was one student committing to saying Chitas every day for two weeks, the runner up was a commitment by another student to learn twelve chapters of Tanya by the 12th of Tamuz.
The then students Danced to live music and enjoyed roasting marshmallows.

Awesome!
we all had a great time, thank you very much to our very dear special program director.

What a great Farbeque!
runner up??????????
chitas is better than 12 prokim? chitas should come automatically, and only two weeks noch…..
seems like a reporting glitch
i was there:
there were 2 winners to the bidding, 1 from 6th grade and 1 from 7th grade.
The 7th grader with the best hachlata, someone who did’nt learn Chitas until now, will learn Chitas for 2 weeks.
The winner in 6th grade, Mendy Sorkin, is a boy who started learning the first 12 prokim of tanya by heart, like many of us, but he now moved up the time of when hes going to finish it to Yud Beis Tammuz.
He actually didn’t light the fire himself – instead he made a shliach to do it for him and he got the sichus.
Mendy i wish you a lot of hatzlocha.
and a lot of hatzlocha to all my other friends who started learning Chitas this year, and the many friends in ‘Club Yud Beis’ who are finishing Yud Beis Prokim.
