
Israeli Mayor Visits Crown Heights
CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Thursday morning, the mayor of Afula, a city in the North of Israel, Mr. Avi Elkabetz visited Crown Heights, just before catching his flight back to Israel. While in Crown Heights the Mr. Elkabetz visited the Rebbe’s room, toured the Jewish Children’s Museum, met with Rabbi’s at OK Kosher and then visited the Ohel.

Mr. Elkabetz visited the United Sates to fundraise money for a new Chabad center to open Afula in memory of the slain Shluchim to Mumbai. Rivki Holtzberg HYD, who was born was born and raised in Afula, and her parents still live there. The new Chabad House, “Beit HaRabbi”, will replicate 770.

The mayor is from Afula, the city of the Rosenberg family, and the mayor is close to the family.
When he came to CH, he was accompanied by a member of the Holtzberg family, Yehuda Holtzberg, a cousin.
