Gas Station No Longer Owned by Jews
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — The Getty gas station on Utica and East New York Avenue is no longer Shomer Shabbos, nor is the restaurant “yellow” kosher anymore, this after the Jewish owner sold the business to Arabs.
Gas pumps at the station proudly proclaimed, in Hebrew, “Shomer Shabbos” and the station boasted a kosher dairy menu of pizza and sandwiches, that was all replaced, the signs came down and the restaurant became a “Boars Head Deli” serving Halal meats.
The owners were Syrian Jews from Canarsie and have sold the business after a few months in operation, due to some financial issues, according to the owners.

Some people just have no morals. How can he sell it to Arabs knowing good and well by his action he brings more Arabs into our neighborhood!

Now they can take down the Moshiach flags and put up Hamas flags being that the Israelis sold it to the Arabs. I guess there is peace after all.

Dear Moishie,
I know of one in Boro Park, on 14th Avenue near the KRM Kollel Store (just past the funeral home).

I heard the new Arab owners offered them a cash amount two or three times more than they paid for it. They still have the Moshiach flag outside.
We were duped and taken for fools
The previous owners were here from the beginning to make money and not for any other reason. By establishing a Kosher shop and Shomer Shabbos gasoline station, and by advertising to our community to come and support this initiative, they were able to show an increase in sales at the station, enhancing its monthly revenues, etc so that they were able to sell the lease for a nice profit above what they paid for it.

People go into business to make money. The gas station business is neither pleasant nor prestigious, and it is often a steppingstone for immigrants who want to move up in this world – and that is what the prior owner did. The restaurant and gas station were not located in our part of the shechuna and while it was nice for us to have it, the location was far more valuable as a lease to be sold.
So, we should be happy that our fellow Yidden and Chassidim are matzliach. Too bad there will be no more kosher gasoline for kiddush in CH, but you can go to the station in Boro Park or rely on a heter to drink ”neft aku“m” as the tanks are buried underground and no goy really sees the gasoline before it is pumped……

I almost posted my thoughts, until reading the post by MehadrinGasolineForKiddush, who I think sums it up perfectly.
p.s. If they want to fly the flag it is right just as it is our right to boycott the store.
