CH SOFTBALL: Goodbye Heifers and Skullcaps
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Back to back the Heifers and Skullcaps stepped on to the field at Lefferts park in attempt to battle their way to game three of the best of three playoff matchup, both failing each with the final score of 9 to 5.

The first game started with the Landmark Funding Red Heifers versus the Print House Hebrew Hammers, the Heifers managing a 2 to 1 lead all the way into the 4th inning when a mix of good hitting and a few errors turned that upside down putting the Hammers up 9 to 2. The final sign of life from the Heifers was in the 6th where they managed to score 3 runs with the final score at 9 to 5, eliminating the heifers from the playoffs.
The second game had the Sweet Expressions Skullcaps in a bind right at the start with the House of Glatt Kloppers leading with a 4 to 1 score, later widening the gap to a 9 to 1 lead in the 5th. A short lived rally which raised the hopes of the Skullcaps in the 6th and 7th ended with just 4 runs and a final score of 9 to 5, eliminating the Skullcaps as well.
The Kloppers and Hammers are now all set to square off in the “St. Johns Rec.” located on Troy Avenue and Bergen Street on Tuesday September 9th at 8:00pm in the final battle as this years seasons champions.

yom hadin
do we need any reminders that it is chodesh elul and the summer fun is over is this what we want our oholei torah or lubavitch yeshiva yong boys to see and look up to
Me
Certainly we want our boys to look up to these men. They are doing a great thing getting excercize allowing them to serve Hashem better.

(yom hadin) Better to be involved in baseball than the other shtus thats out there. I’m sure there are enough hours in the day for our players to also have a chavrusa session or go to a shiur. May baseball be the worst thing that “our oholei torah” boys as well as our boys from the other yeshivas be involved in.
??????
The obesity rate in America is because of comments like yours.

Yom Hadin:
Bug off, youre so pathetic.
There is nothing wrong with a baseball game. It’s a great way to unwind and exercise. Why do people look for issues?
RJen
If we wanted to read about baseball we would go to a baseball website! Enough SHTUSIM! Would the Rebbe aprove?!?!?
safe fun
To be fair, I do understand Yom Hadin. It’s not what we usually do in Lubavitch. (That doesn’t necessarily make it assur.) I wouldn’t want my husband or kids involved IF it meant they neglected their learning. But everyone seems to be having a great time, getting healthy exercise & it’s nice to see organized sports.
It’s a shame the Yeshivas can’t form an after-school junior league under a Rebbe’s supervision. The kids need some physical activity.

If the Kloppers win is it free steak for everyone?
Klopper Blue.
Yom Hadin,
You sound like a JOHNNIE COME LATLY. Because as a matter of “FACT” that back in the day of BEDFORD& DEAN (WHICH I AM SURE YOU HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT) there was such a thing as recriation and the america boys played baseball and I have that on FIRST HAND ACCOUNT.
So before YOU CLAIM to be THE yom hadin worry about your own issues and dont do the Mitzvah of HOICHACH TOICHIACH with such hiddur.
K’sivah vachasima tova to all!
not so sure
yaaa, im sure in lubavitch during elul everyone was preparing themselves by playing lots of baseball and to you mr. b&d i highly doubt in the back of bedford & dean they had an organized league with team names and jerseys have a gr8 time but dont convince yourself your doing something right
Pshara
The best way to compromise is to find out if the players or the fans spend more time learning or playing
Do they take their time while they are davening or only at the game
Is yom hadin only for snags because lubavitchers have connections up there?
Why are the mitzvos of health coinncidentaly something so many people are machmir on?
I do however agree that once emphasis is right – baseball if fine
nos
to yom hadin
just to tell you its better to look up to jewish guys than blacks on drugs playing baseball which unfortunately is by a lot of kids these days
SOFTBALL FAN
Pshara… You are a top class moran.
We don’t need to find out what the heck they do, each man needs to worry about himself. BUT if it makes u feel any better I can tell you that in the shul I daven in I see one of the players there in the morning 6:30 for a shiur chassidus followed by davening.
I hope the ELUL VINT in CH changes to “LESS TALK MORE ACTION”
