CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — This Chol Hamoed Succos, on October 19th, the premiere New York Friendship Walk will be uniting New York families, schools, community leaders and organizations in a spirit-filled walkathon and carnival in support of Friendship Circle – an organization that pairs volunteers with children with special needs, offering them an opportunity for friendship and fun while providing essential support for parents.

The walkathon will take place from 12-4pm, traveling from the Jewish Children’s Museum to Wingate Park via Kingston Avenue. Hundreds of children, volunteers and families whose lives have been affected by Friendship Circle will be walking with the support of the extended New York community.

At Wingate Park, everyone is invited to enjoy a full carnival featuring rides for all ages, a barbeque, face painting, petting zoo, balloon man and more. An open stage will be showcasing various singers and performers the whole afternoon.

There are currently 87 families that benefit from the invaluable care and support of Friendship Circle, with new sign-ups every week. The goal of the NY Friendship Walk is to raise awareness of the various mental and physical disabilities that challenge today’s families, as well as raise vital funds for their expanding list of programs which include Friends-at-Home, Winter Camp, Sunday Circle and various holiday and volunteer programs.
