A Siddur Party in Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — With parents, family and friends in attendance, Lubavitcher Yeshiva Crown Heights celebrated their annual Siddur Party on Sunday for the Pre1A classes of Rabbi Katzen and Rabbi Schwartz.

The event was MC’d by Rabbi Nissan Brenenson, father of Reuven in Rabbi Schwartz’s class.

Rabbi Brenenson spoke very eloquently about the Siddur party taking place between Purim and Pesach (the Gragger and the Matza). These two Yomim Tovim emphasize the power Yiddishe Kinderlach posses. On Purim, the evil decree was nullified when Mordechai gathered 22,000 children with whom he learned and Davened. On Pesach, when the Yiddin crossed the Yam Suf, it was the Yiddishe Kinderlach who recognized Hashem first.

Rabbi Simpson the principal spoke about the power of Tefilla, especially that of children.
Yosef Chaim Sufrin, who celebrated his birthday on this day, led his class in the 12 Pesukim, by reciting the first six Pesukim by himself.

The proud parents of Eli Kanevsky along with the rest of the audience looked on with awe as their son recited Tanya Be’al Peh!

Shragi Raksin and Levi Vigler led the reading of the Rebbe’s Kapitel, and Rabbi Schwartz’s class sang the first three Mishnayos of Pirkei Avos by heart.

The proud boys were called to the dais one by one to receive a beautiful certificate and their very own Siddur, their name embossed in beautiful gold lettering on the cover of the Siddur.

We are very proud of them, and wish them much Hatzlacha.
