The fight, which was taking place inside an apartment on the sixth floor of the co-op building, spilled out into the hallway leaving officers to frantically call for backup, what happened next was what residents described as an army of police and EMS descending on the scene.
With a total of six officers injured and five of the family members arrested, the situation calmed down. Two of the officers were transported to Kings County Hospital, one with an injury to his head and another with possibly a broken arm, two other officers were taken back to the station house while the last two refused medical attention.
Statistics
It may look ugly, but on Vega’s list it’s just a statistic.
annomoyous
actually ems was there first and called for pd assistance fortwith which is why that many ems units were there i heard it come over ems
Mendel
when are they going to clean up these buildings?
stop the hate.
Its good to see they remember how to make arrest people.

To: Mendel:
Ask that question to Popack. I hear he doesn’t take Jews in his buildings.
cynic
the police take care of their own. A civilian (Jewish or black)gets hurt, and they barely file a police report. When well-armed and able-bodied police officers getr hurt, the entire police station empties out.
GO PABLO
OFFICER PABLO RIVERA!!!
They realy need CPR
It seams they are out of practicere re real crime. I wonder if THESE arests will be lost or droped to keep the stats down.
tax payer
halevay they respond like that when we need them.
ad mosai 10-13
interesting to note how huge the response is when it’s one of thier own…. – which is fine, and that’s the way it should be -… but it would be nice to see a similiar type of response when someone from the community (“non MOS”) is mugged or g-d forbid worse
Crown heights
all of a sudden when the cops get hurt you see them poring in
where are they when we need them!!!!!!!
Noch ein schvartz yohr in Rikers
Good! Let Vega understand what these schvartz yohr are all about. Fortunately no cop was seriously injured, but now, just maybe, the 71st will understand who is who in CH.
LIving in 446
There are many Jewish families that currently live in this building and many of the co-ops are owned by anash it is not owned by Popack, but by Soloman overall it is a very quite building the building across the street is a popack building and there is not one yid in it and the police are there daily!!!!!
disability/life insurance.
Popack tried changing Leferts and NY (one of his nicer CH buildings) into a Jewish building. Not that many takers. I think there are still a handful of lubavitchers living there.
bassie
we need to do sheva mitzvas bnei noach with the police department
me................
Here’s a novel idea. Handle your family problems within your family and keep the police out of it and reduce anyone’s chances of being maced. I’ve been to hundreds of family functions and gotten together with relatives countless times and NEVER needed police intervention. But that’s just me…….
jewboy
I cant believe that these people call the police because of a problem in their home that they created now they want to blame police for handling it in the least dangerous way possible. I wonder what would have happened had they not responded ?, theres no doubt it would have ended in bloodshed and the family would have sued the cops for a late response.
analyzer
in this case the police should be commended for handling the situation the way they did. even thew they brought down so many cops !!
More Often
analyzer, no one is blamingthe cops for the responce. On the contrary, they should act this way even when it does not involve on of their own.
stay away
No one wants to Rent from Popack
they dont know how to treat Jews
they are used to dealing with certin people the people who work in the popack
office are like gangsters
commenter
Of course they come quickly when their well armed and able bodied men get hurt.Because it means the fight is really bad.
Pentax
to “commenter” of course they do. Did you know they are human just like us and they also get hurt, stop watching movies and thinking they are the toughest people on the planet and cannot be beaten. they can and thats why they have backup because they are like brothers working together all day.
awacs
“Of course they come quickly when their well armed and able bodied men get hurt.Because it means the fight is really bad.”
The police definition of a “fair fight” is “one where only the police have weapons.”
Then they can be quite brave.
no mater
i does not mattar if thay are in jail thay will be out any day!!!!1
DDDDDDD
Fascinating say how the police take care of only there own.. Well when they are fighting have any of you stepped in to help? Selfishness Who are the ones that will help other cops. Cops are all other cops have it is a bother hood, a giant family
Before anyone of us say anything on how 71pct is terrible, they don’t do there job, imagine them not here and how bad it things would be? Think before you write negative things on here, because I am sure the police read these comments as well; and have negative feeling about us to.
cruz
take it from a EMS member that was there, and got injuried on the call, the residence of the bldg struck the 4 police officers that was there first, and by the time the oficers had time to get the scene secure, about 5 family members were also attacking the officers. The fact that so many ppl here are complaining about how many officers responded is a shame, I guess the samething should be said when so many fine members of the hatzalah volunteer medical service responds to a sick call in there personal vech. Lets stop putting down how agencies respond when 1 of there own is injuried. No body wants 2 c 1 of there co-workers get hurt trying to help the public we all have family 2 go home 2 lets make sure we all get home to our wife and kids in one piece. Best of luck to all of us that put our lives in danger for the public.
