Knife Brandishing Man Arrested After Threatening Jewish Man in Crown Heights

A Jewish community member on a city bus in Crown Heights was threatened by a knife-wielding man Sunday. His immediate call to Shomrim and 911 led to an arrest.

“At approximately 2:20 pm, Shomrim responded to a call on Remsen Avenue regarding a male who brandished a knife and threatened a community member, stating “I’ll slit your throat,” Crown Heights Shomrim wrote on social media. “The victim immediately exited the bus and contacted 911 and Shomrim.”

Thanks to a swift response and collaboration between Crown Heights Shomrim’s operations team and volunteers, the bus was tracked and, Shomrim was able to guide the NYPD to the suspect.

Officers recovered the knife and placed the individual under arrest.
