Shliach’s Home in Bournemouth, UK, Painted With Swastika In Possible Hate Crime

Rabbi Benzion Alperowitz of Chabad of Bournemouth, UK, and his family, were the target of a hate crime this past Shabbos after their home was painted with hateful graffiti by a ‘coward’.

“On Saturday morning, my friend Rabbi Benzion Alperowitz of Bournemouth Chabad walked outside to find a swastika on his home,” Dov Foreman wrote on X. “Antisemitism is alive on our streets, yet it is too often excused and ignored.”

In the short video from Rabbi Alperowitz, he said that “as I walked out the door together with my children on the way to go to shul, we turned around to discover that some cowards visited our home on Friday night and decorated it with this symbol.”

The police were notified and local volunteers from the community worked to remove the offensive graffiti.

This hateful incident comes during a spike in anti-semitic crimes in Bournemouth, including the targeting of a Jewish person with an airsoft gun.
