Garbage Can Thief Busted and Arrested in Crown Heights

A Crown Heights thief thought he could sneak away with a massive garbage can rumbling behind him Tuesday, but soon found out that his calculations were “garbage”. He was nabbed thanks to the help of Crown Heights Shomrim.

“Earlier today, thanks to the eagle-eyed Shomrim volunteers and @NYPD71Pct’s swift response , this thief is off our streets,” Shomrim wrote on social media.

Stealing garbage cans is all the rage for NYC criminals after Mayor Eric Adams mandated that all garbage has to be placed in NYC sold garbage cans. Soon after, these garbage cans became a criminals old mine.

Thankfully, a person rolling a large garbage can down a Crown Heights street is hardly a normal sight. So If You See Something, Say Something. If you see it, it’s probably stolen.
