Jewish Woman Assaulted While Picking Her Child Up From Chabad Daycare Center In Toronto

A Jewish woman picking up her child from the Chabad of Midtown daycare Wednesday was assaulted by an unknown man. The woman suffered minor injuries and Toronto Police are investigating.

According to an official Toronto Police Press Release, On Wednesday, November 13, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the Toronto Police Department responded to a call for an assault at the Chabad of Midtown daycare located in the Bathurst Street and St. Clair Avenue West area.

When they arrived, officers were told that the victim was picking up her child from the daycare when a male suspect approached the victim and assaulted her before fleeing the area on foot.

The Jewish woman suffered minor injuries.

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the suspect and has published photos of him.

The suspect is described as 30 to 35-years-old, approximately 175 lbs., with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodless puffer jacket, burgundy-coloured pants with a white drawstring, and was carrying a blue plastic bag.

This incident is being actively investigated by 13 Division. The Hate Crime Unit has been notified.
