Lubavitcher Attacked and Beaten In Robbery Attempt in Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

In what appears to be the next assault in a slew of unconnected criminal activity plaguing the Crown Heights Jewish community, a Lubavitch man in his 50’s was violently assaulted by masked men after he refused to hand over his phone.

Rabbi Yaacov Behrman of the Jewish Future Alliance reported the incident on his X account, writing “A Chasidic man was beaten in Crown Heights tonight near Utica and President at approximately 7:30pm. The assailants, one was wearing a mask, demanded the victim’s phone, but when he refused, they chased him and beat him. The victim is in excruciating pain and is currently in the emergency room. The police are investigating the incident. The victim is in his mid-50s.”

The man’s injuries include multiple lacerations and bruising to his right arm according to photos released in the incident. Hatzalah transported the victim to the hospital.

This is just another in a slew of attacks that included a Jewish man slashed in the face in downtown Brooklyn last week, as well as two young girls pushed from their scooter yesterday. A teenage boy was also slapped in the face while riding his bike to school just days ago.

I’m not concerned. They will take care of it. This will probably be the last time such a thing happens
