Insane Collaboration Between Two Shomrim Organizations and Two Law Enforcement Agencies In Mugging of Postal Woman
by CrownHeights.info
An insane story of collaboration between two Shomrim organizations along with two law enforcement agencies led to an arrest and impounding of a vehicle involved in a gunpoint robbery of a USPS Postal woman in Crown Heights.
The gunpoint robbery goes back to September 9th, 2024, when a USPS postal worker was approached by two males on Union Street between Brooklyn Ave and Kingston Ave in Crown Heights, and held up at gunpoint as they snatched a large amount of mail from her bag. This was not taken well by the US Postal Police, who reached out to local law enforcement for assistance.
Notified of the incident, Crown Heights Shomrim was able to get a picture of the perpetrator’s vehicle, and with the license plate and description in hand, put out a BOLO to fellow Shomrim organizations. Today, September 19th, the vehicle was spotted by Boro Park Shomrim as it passed through their area heading back towards Crown Heights.
Boro Park Shomrim began tailing the vehicle and notified Crown Heights Shomrim that the vehicle had been spotted. In contact with the NYPD, the Shomrim volunteers were able to give minute-by-minute updates as officers of the NYPD swooped in, stopping the vehicle and arresting the driver at 95th Street and Rutland Road in Crown Heights.
Involving both Crown Heights and Boro Park Shomrim, as well as at least two law enforcement agencies, the ten-day investigation got a major boost thanks to this tight collaboration.
