VIDEO: Vicious and Brutal Assault in Crown Heights, Arrest Made Thanks To Shomrim

A vicious assault caught on camera ended with an arrest Tuesday after a road rage incident spiraled out of control. Shomrim assisted in facilitating the arrest.

The incident began at approximately 2:00pm as a Jewish school bus driver was driving on Albany Ave in Crown Heights and was involved in a road rage incident. The bus driver, who had stepped out of his bus, attempted to speak with the other driver. After being brushed off, the driver was returning to his bus when multiple perpetrators came out of their vehicle and assaulted him, viciously punching the Jewish man twice and slamming his head into the road.

The assault immediately knocked the Jewish man unconcious.

While some of the perpetrators attempted to help the Jewish man, two others jumped into their car and fled the scene. NYPD, Hatzalah, and Shomrim all responded to the scene and convinced the two perpetrators who fled to return.

Hatzalah rushed the Jewish man to the hospital with serious injuries as Shomrim and the NYPD worked to sort out the details of the attack.

Initial claims by the perpetrators to the NYPD was that the Jewish man had attacked them, and they had responded in self defense. Thanks to SafeZone24 and the Shomrim volunteers, video was produced showing the attack from beginning to end, leading to the arrest of one of the perpetrators.

Posting to their social media, Crown Heights Shomrim wrote “At approximately 2 p.m., our volunteers responded for a vicious and brutal assault that took place on Albany Avenue. Thanks to a fast and thorough response and working in great collaboration with @NYPD71PCT the perpetrator was placed under arrest. Thank you to our operations units and to SafeZone24 for their fast response in obtaining the video of this brutal assault and making the difference in real time, which facilitated the arrest.”
