Police Searching For Woman, Investigating Hate Crime At Chabad of Sunny Isles Beach, FL
A Chabad Center in Sunny Isles Beach was the target of a hate crime this past week when a woman toppled a Menorah outside the center.
“Definitely was intentional and she meant to do it,” Sunny Isles Beach police Chief Edward Santiago said. “She put a lot of work into it to destroy it.”
Video footage from the incident shows the woman approaching the Menorah at around 1:00am Shabbos outside the Chabad Lubavitch of Sunny Isles Beach and putting in effort in toppling it to the ground. According to the police, the woman then went to a nearby bus stop and scrawled “God Hates Jews” there as well.
