Bochur Hit in the Head with a Glass Bottle

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – Yesterday, Sunday, an Israeli Bochur who was walking to 770 at around 8:40pm from one of the ‘Hachnosas Orchim’ houses in the vicinity of Park Place and Brooklyn Avenue, was viciously assaulted by a gang of blacks.

The assault took place on St. Johns Place and Brooklyn Avenue where the Bochur was struck with the glass bottle, but did not know what had hit him, and his possessions, including his Tefillin, wallet and passport were taken from him.

More in the Extended Article.

Bewildered and injured the Bochur did not know what to do, when a security guard came out of one of the buildings to provide assistance, scared the Bochur who went running towards Eastern Parkway, there Jewish residents called Hatzalah and Shomrim who responded within minutes and began searching for the perps and for the Bochurs possessions.

Hatzalah transported the Bochur to Kings County Hospital where he received ‘staples’ for the injuries he sustained and was discharged a short while later.

Police officers responded and filled out police reports and detectives from the 77th Precinct gang squad were immediately assigned to the case.

One frustrated resident told CrownHeights.info “its beautiful to see all the guests come to Crown Heights, but when they [Ashel Hachnosas Orchim] stick them on Park Place and Brooklyn Avenue with no security that’s just wrong” he said, another added that “most guests that arrive for the months of Elul and Tishrei have no idea how dangerous these streets really are”.

CrownHeights.info would like to urge readers to keep your eyes open when walking at night, be aware of your surroundings, and if you feel in danger do not hesitate to call 911 and Shomrim at (718) 774-3333 24/7

    excuse me???

if someone thinks they can do a better job then Ashel Hachnosas Orchim, then do it! your more then welecome! do you think that ashel WANTS to put them there? they just don’t have anywere else. if you care, then why don’t you donate some money to ashel specifying thats it’s to hire a guard. (which is really silly, because thats what the police are supposed to be doing!)

if you don’t do that, then don’t write anything bad about an organization that does so much good.

the only way you’ll get some action is by going to the media if this is publicized the city will do something otherwise they don’t really care much about what happens to some jew

  • Hello! - blaming the victim?

While it’s true that because of the shortage of "local" housing, Eishel places people a bit on the outskirts, But this is like blaming the victim
There is no excuse for this in ANY location – what do you mean by saying it’s because they place the bochurim far out – is it acceptable on ANY block for an individual to expect to be assaulted?!?

    "Ashel putting ppl far out"
Come on, firtst of all he was attacked behind Oholei Torah two short blocks from EP not on Park Place and we have local residents living in the outskirts of the jewish CH.
Second it was at 8:40 PM not very late at all why he would suspect ant danger.
When people don’t have anything positive to say they should not say anithing.
Aishel does a tremendous job a hard job next time you get a call please help them.
Hope the bochur is doing well.
    Where is the police?

Guests should have it explained to them in their own language, in words of 1 syllable so they understand, not to walk alone, even in daylight.

Sad thing when people aren’t safe to go about normal business. And the racist cops just make it worse. They never follow up, except when their own are attacked or killed. Jewish victims don’t count.

After all, we know that whatever happens to us is a mistake. AAAAWWW!!

  • if I thought you cared what my name is..

I didn’t read all the comments but one … thing seems to be left out from the comments in general. ONE. God.

If I had to interpret I’d say the message is this:

Do you need to be hit in the head with a bottle to wake up?
