Shoplifter Arrested After Shomrim Volunteer Makes The Right Decision

by CrownHeights.info

It can sometimes be challenging to pick out those people wandering the streets who are up to no good from others who are just minding their own business. A Crown Heights Shomrim volunteer made the right decision today, and a shoplifter is now picking up some time behind bars.

A Crown Heights Shomrim volunteer patrolling in a marked Shomrim vehicle was flagged down Monday when some concerned community members noticed an out-of-place man following a woman with her child on the streets of Crown Heights.

Multiple volunteers began watching the man, and without any crime committed, the decision had to be made to either continue following or not.

One volunteer with years of experience felt something was off and made the decision to continue following him. Minutes later, the man stepped into Kol Tuv and proved the volunteer correct.

Snatching an item off the shelf, the man made his way out of the store without paying and began walking away. He didn’t get very far and was soon trying to explain himself to the police.

As he was being arrested the police officers found a knife on him as well.
