Arrest Made After Three Unprovoked Assaults in Crown Heights

by CrownHeights.info

Three unprovoked assaults took place one after another in Crown Heights Tuesday by a man now sitting behind bars.

The incidents took place around 9:30am when the attacker picked his first victim in front of Chocollate on Kingston Ave. The man punched his victim, sending his glasses flying before moving down Kingston Ave and Union Street.

In front of Kahans, the man got into a confrontation with one of the store workers and a Bochur but was interrupted by one of Crown Heights’s famous Tzedaka collectors who distracted the attacker and drew him back towards Eastern Parkway.

The police were flagged down and initially held the attacker as witnesses ran to bring the victims to the police. Inexplicably, the police had let the man go.

Just moments later, a woman exited the Kingston Ave subway station in tears having been assaulted by the same man just moments earlier.

Faced by multiple witnesses, the NYPD officers caught up with the man, this time making a complete arrest and taking him in to the 71st Precinct.

Crown Heights Shomrim was also called after the first two assaults and arrived to assist the victims following the incident.

What does the Chanina Sperlin, Exec VP of Governmental Affairs at CHJCC have to say about all the pending Vital Brooklyn homeless affordable housing ( supportive housing ) that reduces the amount of affordable housing for regular families?
( CHJCC gets about $$1 million from NYS for the Weatherization program which money goes to CH landlords of low income housing)
