Child Shoved, Deranged Man Arrested Friday In Crown Heights

A deranged man is getting care after shoving a Jewish boy and being arrested by the NYPD in Crown Heights Friday morning.

The incident took place around 8:30am when a father called Shomrim after his son had been shoved by a deranged man in an unprovoked assault.

According to Shomrim, the man had targeted the Jewish boy on Remsen Ave and the father of the boy rushed to his aid. Confronting the man, an altercation ensued in which the deranged man swung at the Jewish father and missed.

With his attempt to punch the father thwarted, the deranged man then attempted to flee on foot. Shomrim volunteers caught up with the deranged man within minutes as he attempted to flee, and were able to direct the responding police officers.

Approx 8:30 am our vol's responded for a child that was shoved by an erratic male. The perp tried to punch the childs father but was not successful. When the police arrived, the deranged man had removed his clothes and was clearly in need of treatment at a hospital. He was transported by EMS to Kings County Hospital for evaluation.

At the present time the attack is not being investigated as a hate crime.
